Oftentimes times I am asked, “What exactly is a voiceover?” Here is a brief, but to-the-point definition from dictionary.com:

A voiceover is the voice of an off screen narrator, announcer, or the like. It is a televised sequence, as in a commercial, using such a voice. Any off-screen voice, as that of as character in a narrative.

That’s it! You hear voiceovers everywhere you turn. You listen to them on the radio, in the store, while watching that video and you even listen to them in recorded on-hold messages when you phone a local business.
